Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Archtone application or any part of the Service (as defined below), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Archtone ("we", "our", or "us"), operated by an individual developer. Please read them carefully before using the app.

Description of Service

Archtone is an AI-powered tone recommendation application for Neural DSP Archetype plugins. The Service generates amp, EQ, cabinet, and effects settings based on your descriptions of a target tone — such as an artist name, song reference, or free-text description.

The Service is available as a mobile application on iOS and Android, and is accessible via the website at https://archtone.app. Archtone is not affiliated with Neural DSP Technologies — see Section 7 for details.

We may add, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes through in-app notifications or email.

Account Registration

To use Archtone you must create an account by signing in through a supported authentication provider. Sign in with Apple is available on iOS; Google Sign-In is available on Android.

Your Responsibilities

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication provider credentials (Apple ID or Google Account). We cannot and do not manage those credentials.
• You must notify us immediately at privacy@archtone.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your Archtone account.
• You agree not to share your Archtone account with others. Each account is for a single individual.
• You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission.

You may only hold one Archtone account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits or subscription requirements is a violation of these Terms and may result in account termination.

Free and Premium Tiers

Archtone is available in two tiers:

Premium features are unlocked via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android). Pricing is displayed in your local currency at checkout and may vary by region. See Section 5 for billing terms.

We reserve the right to adjust the features included in each tier at any time. Material reductions to paid-tier features will be communicated with reasonable advance notice.

Subscriptions & Billing

Archtone Premium is offered as a recurring subscription managed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Archtone does not directly process payments or store payment information. All billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund matters are governed by the applicable app store's terms and policies.

Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal charges are applied to your App Store or Google Play payment method.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription management settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Google Play → Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain premium access until then.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google, not by Archtone. Please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly to request a refund. We are unable to process refunds on their behalf.

Subscription Verification

Archtone uses RevenueCat to verify subscription status in real time. RevenueCat communicates with the App Store and Google Play to confirm active entitlements. No payment information is stored on Archtone's servers.

Acceptable Use

By using Archtone you agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

• API abuse: Making automated, scripted, or excessive requests to the Archtone backend beyond what normal app usage would produce, including using bots or scripts to generate recommendations.
• Reverse engineering: Attempting to decompile, disassemble, reverse-engineer, or otherwise derive the source code or algorithms underlying the Archtone AI recommendation engine or any part of the Service.
• Credential sharing: Sharing your account credentials with others, or using another person's account.
• Scraping: Using automated tools, web scrapers, or bots to extract recommendation data or any other content from the Service in bulk.
• Circumvention: Attempting to bypass, disable, or circumvent any rate-limiting, authentication, or access control mechanisms in the Service.
• Harmful use: Using the Service in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful to Archtone or other users.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, at our sole discretion, with or without notice.

Intellectual Property

Archtone's Property

The Archtone application, website, recommendation engine, source code, design, trademarks, and all related materials are owned by Archtone and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use Archtone's name, logo, or branding outside of normal use of the Service.

Neural DSP Disclaimer

Neural DSP and all Archetype plugin names (including but not limited to Nolly, Plini, Tim Henson, and others) are trademarks of Neural DSP Technologies Oy. Archtone is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Neural DSP Technologies. References to Neural DSP products are for compatibility description purposes only.

Your Content

You retain ownership of the guitar profile data and tone request descriptions you create within Archtone. By submitting this content to the Service, you grant Archtone a limited, non-exclusive licence to process and store it solely for the purpose of providing your tone recommendations. We do not use your inputs to train AI models or share them with third parties beyond what is described in our Privacy Policy.

Generated Recommendations

Tone recommendations generated by Archtone are provided for your personal, non-commercial use. You may apply them within your own music production workflow. You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit generated recommendations without our prior written consent.

AI-Generated Content

All tone recommendations provided by Archtone are generated by an artificial intelligence model and are provided "as-is" without any warranty of accuracy, fitness for purpose, or professional quality.

Archtone's recommendations are intended as a creative and practical aid for guitarists. They are not a substitute for the advice of a professional audio engineer, studio producer, or sound designer. We make no claim that generated settings will exactly replicate any specific artist's tone.

We continuously work to improve recommendation quality, but we cannot guarantee that every output will meet your expectations. If a recommendation does not sound right, we encourage you to refine your request or adjust the settings to suit your setup.

Limitation of Liability

No Warranty

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of Damages

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Archtone shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of goodwill — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Maximum Liability Cap

In no event shall Archtone's total aggregate liability to you exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to Archtone (via in-app purchase) in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $10.00.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Termination

Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct that may harm Archtone, other users, or third parties. In cases of serious violations (such as API abuse or attempted reverse engineering), termination may be immediate.

Termination by You

You may terminate your account at any time by requesting account deletion. To do so, email privacy@archtone.app with the subject line "Delete My Account". We will process your request within 30 days and permanently delete all associated data from our servers.

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel your subscription separately through your device's subscription management settings before or after account deletion.

Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Intellectual Property, AI-Generated Content disclaimer, and Limitation of Liability — will remain in effect.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification or, if you have provided an email address, by email. We will also update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account deletion.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. As an independent individual developer serving a global user base, we aim to comply with applicable consumer protection and data privacy laws in the jurisdictions where our users are located.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction, as required by applicable law in your location. Nothing in this section limits any consumer rights you may have under mandatory local law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remainder of the Terms will continue in full force and effect.
